Meet Dr. West

General and Cosmetic Dentist Dr. Ronald D. West in Carson City, NV

Dr. West is a Reno native.  He grew up in the North Valleys/Cold Springs area.  He graduated from Hug High School and went directly into the United States Air Force.  He served honorably as a F-15E crew chief with a medal serving in Southwest Asia during Desert Watch.   After his tour of duty completed, Dr. West returned home and attended University of Nevada, Reno.  After graduating with his bachelor’s degree in Biology, he attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine.  Dr. West is proud to have returned to Northern Nevada, while previously serving the communities of Las Vegas, Elko, and now Carson City.

Dr. West enjoys traveling, going to Lake Tahoe, and any outdoor activity. He also reads a lot and loves movies.  He enjoys reading fantasy fiction, mystery, spy, and some nonfiction.   He loves to discuss books with his patients and often shares recommendations back and forth.  He has a special soft spot for Sherlock Holmes mysteries. 

Dr. West believes the most important function of the dental office is the patient experience.  He and the staff are strive to be thorough and to treat the patient completely as a whole.  There are many choices when deciding on any caregiver.  The most important task is finding someone who listens and understands the patient and their needs.   Dr. West believes this is only achieved through educating his patients and helping them to overcome their fears.
